“When the World Changes, Organisations Must Change as Well: Why Boards Need Hard Conversations Now”
Across the humanitarian and development sector, the pace of change is unprecedented. Crises are intersecting and interdependent. Funding is tightening. Traditional business models are no longer delivering. Trust in institutions is shifting. And the communities we serve are rightly demanding local leadership. In the middle of all of this, many organisations feel unsure and stuck. There is often a tension between sticking with the familiar structures and models that have served us well and the emerging realities which will determine whether we thrive, and in many cases whether we survive. One thing we know for sure is that what got us here will not get us to where we need to be. This newsletter provides some thoughts on the conversations that Boards should be having.
