Leading Humanitarian Strategy and Response at Save the Children Australia
Archie Law held senior leadership roles at Save the Children Australia, initially leading the humanitarian team and later as Director of International Programmes, overseeing a $41 million portfolio. His role spanned humanitarian response, programme quality, strategy and business development and he ensured the organisation could effectively respond to complex and large-scale challenges.

Development of a forward-looking humanitarian strategy
Led the development of the 2019 humanitarian strategy, with a focus on enhancing support for local actors, strengthening capability in cash transfers, and building organisational thought leadership.
Leadership of large-scale COVID-19 response
Led the organisation’s humanitarian response during COVID-19, including mobilising $25 million for a cash transfer programme in Fiji.
Delivery of high-impact cash transfer programming
Oversaw implementation of a programme reaching over 20% of Fiji’s population and providing vulnerable communities with critical financial support during the pandemic.
Establishment of the International Programmes Division
Led the creation of a new division to improve alignment across international programming, strengthen coordination, and support future growth.
Organisational change and culture development
Led a change management process to build a culture based on trust, accountability, and performance, supporting teams to operate more effectively in complex environments.
